Herzog Foundation Leader Appointed to Missouri School Funding Modernization Task Force

The Herzog Foundation congratulates its Senior Director, Chris Vas, on his appointment by Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe to the state’s newly established School Funding Modernization Task Force. This appointment recognizes Vas’ unwavering commitment to educational excellence for all students in Missouri, and the Herzog Foundation’s desire to empower parents and students.

Governor Kehoe’s executive order establishing the task force marks a significant step toward improving how education is funded across the state. As the representative for nonprofit organizations working to expand school choice in Missouri, Vas will help evaluate current funding mechanisms and recommend reforms to ensure every Missouri student has access to a high-quality education.

“We are honored that the Herzog Foundation has a seat at the table in these critical discussions,” said Todd Graves, Chairman of the Board at the Herzog Foundation. “This appointment reflects our dedication to thoughtful, student-centered education reform and our role as a trusted voice in shaping the future of Missouri’s schools.”

The task force will begin meeting this summer and is expected to deliver a final report to Governor Kehoe by December 1, 2026.
