Overview

The Herzog Foundation is seeking a graphic design and content creator who can execute and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of our graphic design and digital content requirements. The ability to manage multiple graphic design projects at once, collaborate with the content and communications team, are all essential skills. Supporting the mission of the Herzog Foundation is necessary for success. This position will report directly to the Communications Director, but will work closely with other members of the content and communications team.

The graphic design and content creator will develop concepts, create compelling layouts and designs, both digital and print, that consistently carry the Herzog Foundation’s brand throughout a wide range of standardized and custom deliverables such as event and marketing materials, email campaigns, website, landing pages, social media posts, videos and animation, and more.

Duties

  • Collaborates with the communications and content team to design and create content that aligns with the Herzog Foundation’s overall marketing strategy, ensuring all materials consistently adhere to brand standards
  • Delivers creative and sophisticated infographic solutions to ensure the Herzog Foundation’s brand is communicated effectively both with words and design. Ensures workflow from concept to production is efficient and well communicated
  • Evaluates the optimization of activities by analyzing website, email, and social media metrics and making recommendations to improve results
  • Utilizes email marketing platform, creating communications campaign by integrating animation and video into graphics strategy
  • Manage and update design and content across all channels and platforms as needed
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as reasonably assigned

Minimum qualifications

  • Support the mission of the Herzog Foundation
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro
  • Strong computer and related technical skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, HubSpot, WordPress, and familiarity with graphic design and brand concepts
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, as well as strong presentation skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Work well in a team environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, graphic design, or a related field
  • Creativity and originality with demonstrated knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles

    Studio Assistant

    Studio Assistant – Full Time

    Overview:

    The Herzog Foundation is seeking a Studio Assistant who can assist in our video and podcast studios at the Herzog Foundation headquarters. The Studio Assistant will assist the Studio Engineer and be involved in content creation from pre-shoot to post-production. Supporting the mission of the Herzog Foundation is essential. This position will report directly to the Studio Engineer, but may occasionally work with other staff on foundation-related content. 

    Duties:

    • Set up lighting and cameras in the video studio
    • Set up audio equipment for video shoots and podcasts
    • Operate BlackMagic studio equipment
    • Take direction from the Studio Assistant
    • Edit video content and audio content

    Minimum qualifications

    • Technical skills with lighting, cameras, microphones, and editing
    • Support the mission of the Herzog Foundation
    • The ability to take direction and learn new technical skills
    • Ability to meet deadlines
    • Work well in a team environment

    Preferred qualifications

    • At least one year of video/editing experience

The Studio Engineer will be a leader who can manage other studio staff and be the Foundation’s expert on video and audio production from pre-shoot to post-production.         Events Coordinator

        Major Duties and Responsibilities

        Coordinate the planning and execution of all Herzog Foundation training events. This position will report directly to the Training Director, while working closely with the President, Operations, and Marketing departments. 

        The Events Coordinator must be able to demonstrate internal team leadership while employing an entrepreneurial, collaborative and results-oriented approach to lead and drive the production of high quality events that advance our mission.

        The Events Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all Herzog Foundation training events are logistically seamless, effective, well-produced, and impactful. The Coordinator will provide the vision for the event experience for the attendee from start to finish. They will direct the designing of the staging, signage, and other aspects of the event experience. The Coordinator will manage attendee lodging, transportation, registration, and communication. They will work closely with the Marketing department to promote Herzog Foundation events and to ensure that event production is of the highest quality. The Coordinator will be responsible for executing events based on their budgets and will report to the Training Director on any financial needs or vendor changes. They will communicate internally with the team throughout the planning process to keep the team informed on progress.

        In addition to working internally with the HF team, the Coordinator will work with outside vendors like caterers, transportation companies, furniture rentals, video production teams, etc. to fulfill their duties.

        Qualifications for the Job

        Experience: 

        • 1-2 years of events or project management experience
        • 0-2 years of customer service experience
        • Demonstrated budget management
        • Experience in the Christian space preferred

          The Herzog Foundation is seeking a staff writer who can help produce news pieces for The Lion, an online publication that covers a wide range of issues facing American families and culture, especially related to education. A passion for writing engaging content, excellent writing and proofreading skills, ability to discover story ideas, and ability to meet deadlines are important qualities. Supporting the mission of the Herzog Foundation is essential. This position will report directly to the managing editor of The Lion but may occasionally work with other staff on foundation-related content. 

           

          Duties:

          • Find and write news stories in a timely manner.
          • Develop a process for finding and reporting relevant news stories.
          • Work with the editorial calendar.
          • Proofread publication content.
          • Fulfill other writing duties as assigned.
