Herzog Foundation Hosts Education Freedom Rally to Celebrate Inaugural Year of the MoScholars Program
The Herzog Foundation hosted an Education Freedom Rally today to celebrate the successful launch of Missouri’s first tax-credit ESA scholarship program. The MoScholars program was approved by the Missouri General Assembly in 2021 and established Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs) for Missouri families. The Herzog Foundation is one of six organizations in the State of Missouri chosen to fund and administer ESAs.
“In six short months, our team has raised over $3 million so hundreds of Missouri students can attend the schools of their dreams,” said Herzog Foundation President Darrell Jones. “The MoScholars program is truly changing lives, and we’re excited to see how the program grows in future years. This is only the beginning of education freedom in the State of Missouri.”
The following organizations and guest speakers spoke at the Herzog Foundation’s Education Freedom rally:
- Danny Maggart, St. Joseph Christian School
- Jeannie Scarbrough, Northland Christian Education System
- Patrick Ishmael, Show-Me Institute
- CiCi Tompkins, Children’s Education Alliance of Missouri
- Andy Wells, No Left Turn in Education
Talk radio personality Chris Stigall emceed the rally alongside his wife Christine. Chris and Christine co-host Making the Leap, a new podcast for parents considering private education for the first time. On the podcast’s first season, Chris and Christine walk listeners through their decision to pull their daughter out of a government-controlled school and enroll her in a private Christian school.
“Just like so many Missouri parents, we decided to take control of our child’s education,” said Making the Leap Co-Host Chris Stigall. “Now, even more Missouri families will have the opportunity to join us in Making the Leap thanks to the MoScholars program.”
