Major Gifts Officer

Primary Responsibilities:
- Interfacing with donors on a regular basis
- Managing an active portfolio of approximately 100–125 existing donors and rotating list of discovery prospects
- Developing and executing strategies for engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and retaining donors
- Traveling for face-to-face cultivation and solicitation meetings with existing and prospective donors
- Re-engaging and renewing lapsed donors
- Researching, identifying, and soliciting new donor prospects
- Effectively utilizing tools such as the direct response pipeline and the eventual major donor club to engage with donors
- Maintaining accurate and thorough records in the CRM and moves management tool
- Working collaboratively and providing regular updates to the development team
- Supporting the Director of Development and Senior Director, as asked
Key Performance Expectations:
- Meeting weekly outreach activity goals set during the investor relations meetings
- Executing informal events successfully by meeting established fundraising and event goals
Key Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of major gifts fundraising experience
- A vested interest in school choice
- Solid understanding of fundraising practices
- Able to establish trust and strong working relationships with colleagues, partners, and donors
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in written form
- Adept in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- High degree of organization and excellent use of systems
- Experience with donor CRM, especially Salesforce preferred
- Motivated by taking initiative and driving success
- Driven daily by an excellence mindset
- Ability to travel 50% of the time
Compensation Package:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience: $125,000-$165,000
