Major Gifts Officer

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interfacing with donors on a regular basis
• Managing an active portfolio of approximately 100–125 existing donors and rotating list of discovery prospects
• Developing and executing strategies for engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and retaining donors
• Traveling for face-to-face cultivation and solicitation meetings with existing and prospective donors
• Re-engaging and renewing lapsed donors
• Researching, identifying, and soliciting new donor prospects
• Effectively utilizing tools such as the direct response pipeline and the eventual major donor club to engage with donors
• Maintaining accurate and thorough records in the CRM and moves management tool
• Working collaboratively and providing regular updates to the development team
• Supporting the Director of Development and Senior Director, as asked

Key Performance Expectations:

• Meeting weekly outreach activity goals set during the investor relations meetings
• Executing informal events successfully by meeting established fundraising and event goals

Key Qualifications:

•  3-5+ years of major gifts fundraising experience
• A vested interest in school choice
• Solid understanding of fundraising practices
• Able to establish trust and strong working relationships with colleagues, partners, and donors
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in written form
• Adept in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
• High degree of organization and excellent use of systems
• Experience with donor CRM, especially Salesforce preferred
• Motivated by taking initiative and driving success
• Driven daily by an excellence mindset
• Ability to travel 50% of the time

Compensation Package:

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience: $125,000-$165,000
