Overview:

The Herzog Foundation is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and reconcile financial data, including general ledger accounts, financial statements, and other financial records.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, summaries, and forecasts for management review.
  • Monitor and track account balances, identifying discrepancies or issues and resolving them promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and tax reporting requirements.
  • Conduct variance analysis to understand and explain the differences between budgeted and actual financial performance.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant data and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting-related inquiries.
  • Assist with audits by preparing necessary documents and addressing auditor requests.
  • Continuously review and improve financial processes and reporting systems for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the finance team with other accounting duties as required.
  • Back up to accounts payable clerk.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Analyst, Financial Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, in office.
  • Reporting to Director of Finance.
