Job Summary:
The Associate Studio Producer is responsible for the technical execution of a daily live show, serving as the show’s technical director during live broadcasts. This role operates at the center of live production, coordinating video, audio, graphics, and on-screen talent while actively switching the show in real time. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced live environment, has strong technical instincts, and can troubleshoot issues quickly without disrupting the broadcast.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Technical Director for a daily live show, executing all technical elements of the broadcast to ensure a clean, professional live broadcast.
- Operate live switchers to punch cameras, graphics, video playback, and audio during live production.
- Work hands-on with Blackmagic studio production equipment, including switchers,
and control systems. - Manage and operate virtual green screen environments.
- Direct on-screen talent during live shows, providing clear cues and communication.
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and calmly during live production.
- Shoot and edit video and audio content to support live and recorded segments.
- Collaborate closely with producers and production staff to execute show rundowns
accurately and on time. - Maintain broadcast quality standards while working under the pressure of live
television.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in video production, communications, journalism, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Proven hands-on experience in technical direction, live production, or a similar role,
with a portfolio or examples of published work. - Experience with Blackmagic studio production equipment preferred.
- Experience working in virtual green screen environments.
- Availability to work early morning hours and maintain consistent attendance for live
broadcasts. - Familiarity with live news or daily live show production preferred.
- Proficiency and comfort in shooting and editing video and audio.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to give clear, concise direction to on-air
talent. - Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure live production environment while
maintaining accuracy and quality
